About Us
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor Designation, with over 20 years of experience in the mental health and substance use disorder fields. I was called to be a counselor and to be able to assist people in helping themselves change the course of their lives. I have worked with people in community agencies, residential treatment, crisis stabilization, criminal justice system, and in an inpatient setting. I have also worked with the Specialized Dockets in Marion County. I have over 14 years of experience as a clinical supervisor as well as a director of several different programs. I help people restructure their thoughts which will ultimately lead to a change in emotions and behaviors.

Latoi Habbas is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor who brings warmth, compassion, and genuine connection to every person she works with. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, offering care that is both evidence‑based and deeply human. Latoi’s counseling style is collaborative, strengths‑based, and deeply client‑centered. She integrates Person‑Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma‑informed approaches to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. She is also trained in EMDR. Above all, she strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward the life they want.

About A Better Way Counseling Services, LLC
A Better Way Counseling Services was founded on the premise that there are people who want to make changes in their lives, but they feel as if they are stuck on the same path and are uncertain of how to change course. I work with people to help them change their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, so that they can see alternative ways of living that can lead to a new life.
I work with people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, grief and loss, addictions, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), marital/relationship challenges, criminal justice system involvement, and other challenges.
The treatment models used at A Better Way Counseling Services are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solutions-Based Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based to name a few. I will use an integrated approach, so that I can provide individualized treatment, meeting people where they are in their lives. I am now offering Hypnotherapy.
A Better Way Counseling Services provides counseling for individuals, couples, and families. Servicing both the adult and adolescent populations. Both in-person and video telehealth are offered.
I can provide Clinical Supervision to help counselors get the required supervision hours to obtain their independent license. (Fees applicable)
